You’ll find this gem nestled in a beautifully converted mill complex right on the border of Biddeford and Saco.
Portland Pie offers a variety of crusts and toppings as you’d expect from any pizza joint worth their sauce. For the non-pizza muncher in your group, they also offer salads, soups, sandwiches, pasta, and calzones.
Their menu is a treat to read with Toasted Sandwiches and Specialty Pizza Pies all named for famous New England locations.

Pat’s Pizza, Scarborough
No favorite pizzas of Maine roundup could possibly NOT consider including Pat’s pizza. Let me ‘splain…
Pat’s long-standing history in Maine reaches all the way back to 1931 when Carl D. “Pat” Farnsworth established “Farnsworth’s Cafe”, an ice cream store in Orono, Maine. Over the years he expanded and transformed the simple the ice cream hot spot into a full-service restaurant.
In 1953, Pat introduced pizza to the restaurant’s menu and therein lies the true wisdom of this talented entrepreneur. You see, Pat’s was strategically located just minutes from the nearby University of Maine Orono campus.
As you know, hungry college minds are fueled by delicious pizza, so it was a breeding grounds for a runaway success.
There are several Pat’s locations across Maine. In Southern Maine, you have two primary choices: Scarborough and Portland. Both are equally delicious! The Scarborough setting is on the quieter side; however, if you’re looking for a little more atmosphere, visit the Portland location in the Old Port.

Pizza By Alex, Biddeford
Another long-time Southern Maine favorite is Pizza By Alex in Biddeford. Original owner, Alex Mantis, started serving his delicious Greek-style pizzas in the Winter of 1960.
Alex has since handed over the reins to his nephew Andy, though the pizza shop remains in the Mantis family. They are committed to using choice ingredients and making everything fresh daily.
Now, when you arrive, expect just one thing on the menu: Pizza. Also, just know you have one choice of size as well: 10″ personal.

Otto Pizza (coming to Saco: June 2018)
Thrillist recently named Otto Pizza “One Of The Best Pizzas in America”. It goes without saying, that’s quite a feat.
